Nigeria or the federal republic of Nigeria is a country on the central west coast of the continent of Africa. The country shares its borders with Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and the Republic of Benin. The gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean form the coastline on the western side. The country is a republic having thirty six states. The most populous city of the country of Nigeria is Lagos whereas the capital of the country lies in the city of Abuja. Nigeria became an independent country after it gained independence from the United Kingdom in the year 1960. Nigeria has a population of more than a hundred and forty million people and has the highest population amongst all the countries in Africa.

Like the United States of America, Nigeria is too modeled on a similar structure with respect to the political system. The president of the country is the chosen chief of state as well as the Head of the Government. The President is elected through elections which are held all across the length and the breadth of the country. The elected President then will serve in office for a period of two to four years.

Nigeria is still a developing country and a third World Country and hence the job opportunities are tremendous in this country. The perspective of people generally is that Africa is a poor continent and most of the African countries have a poor economy but Nigeria is one of the most stable and developed countries in Africa. The Country of Nigeria can boast of the fact that it was able to pay off its debt which amounted to about thirty billion dollars to the Paris club. The fact is that Nigeria has tremendous oil reserves which are being utilized by the country efficiently. The Nigerians are one of the largest exporters of petroleum to the World and have clients like the United States of America and the People's Republic of China as well. Because of this industry, many people from around the World migrate to Nigeria to be a part of this industy.

The jobs in Nigeria are plenty specially in the Oil and Petroleum Industry. Also there are jobs in engineering, in education, in health and the manufacturing sector. Nigeria is home to the manufacturing units of many big car manufacturers. Also the Agriculture sector which had been going down needs urgent reforms to bring in back on track so the country which used to be a great exporter at a point of time does not have to import its food any longer. The Army in Nigeria is also very big in number and does immense work in aiding United Nations in maintaining peace and calm by deploying peace keeping forces to different parts of Africa wherever there is a Civil War or any sort of Violence.
